Tuition and Scholarship
(1)Tuition
Students must pay academic fees in two installments:half in April and the remainder in October. Recipients of Japanese government scholarships are exempt from tuition charges.
Degree students 520,800yen (2003, one year)
Research students 28,900yen (2003, one month)
(2)Remitted Tuition
After enrolling at the university,degree students who find it impossible to fulfill their tuition fee payments due to financial difficulties,may apply for remission.They should consult the administrative staff for overseas students affairs in their faculty.Partial or total exemption from payment will be judged according to academic attainment.Please consult the administrative staff at your faculty's overseas students office or at the consultation office of the Student Welfare Section(Shizuoka Campus).
(3)Scholarship
The following scholarships are available to self-maintained students. Awards are made on the basis of scholastic attainment, character and other factors.
Please consult the administrative staff at your faculty's overseas students office for further information.
A.Japanese Government Grants for Overseas Students
a.Deadline for application will be announced in December.
b.Requirements
1.Undergraduate self-maintained students who intend to move up to the 4th grade and are under the age of 26.
2.Postgraduate self-maintained students(including those applying for M.A. or Ph.D. courses who graduated from a university or completed an M.A.),who are under the age of 35.

b.Requirements
1.Self-maintained students who are undergraduate or postgraduate students.
2.Self-maintained students enrolled as exchange students at sister-universities with Shizuoka University who are research or special audit students.

E.Rotary-Yoneyama Memorial Foundation
a.Deadline for application will be announced in October
b.Requirements Overseas students from any established Rotary Club region or country
1.Who intend to move up to the 3rd or 4th grade.
2.Who intend to move up to the 1st or 2nd grade in the Master's degree program or the 2nd or 3rd grade in the Doctoral course,who are under the age 45.
*This excludes overseas students currently receiving a scholarship from their government or any other foundation,who already possess a Doctor's degree.

N.B. Postgraduate students from established Rotary Club countries can apply to the Regional Yoneyama Grant Association Scholarship.
F.Sagawa Scholarship Foundation
a.Deadline for Application will be announced in February
b.Requirements
1.Undergraduate students from Southeast Asian countries who qualify for the 3rd grade and are under the age of 27.
2.Students from Southeast Asian countries who are eligible to enter either the 1st year of a Master's degree program or the 2nd year of a Doctoral course,and who are under the age of 35.

b.Requirements Self-maintained students who are either undergraduate,graduate or research students in the Faculties of Science,Engineering and Education.

H.Heiwa Nakajima Foundation Scholarship for Foreign Students in Japan
a.Deadline for Application will be announced in September.
b.Requirements Undergraduate or postgraduate students who will contribute to international understanding and interrelationship with Japan.

I.Benjiro Honda Scholarship
a.Deadline for Application will be announced in March.
b.Requirements : The 3rd or 4th grade undergraduate students,or post-graduate students whose major is Science,Engineering,or Agri-aquaculture.

J.Suruga Foundation for Overseas Students

K.Other Scholarship
Beside the aforementioned scholarships,announcements of the following scholarships will be made at the faculty concerned.Those who wish to know details should consult the overseas students office of the faculty concerned.

Iwatani International ScholarshipSelf-maintained students from East Asian or Southeast Asian countries who are graduate students.
The Korean ScholarshipSelf-maintained students from South Korea who are graduate or undergraduate students.
Interchange Association ScholarshipSelf-maintained students from Taiwan who are graduate students.
Kawaguchi Shizu Memorial ScholarshipSelf-maintained students from Asian countries who are under 30 (undergraduate) or under 35 (graduate)

Candidates may be required to make autonomous applications for these scholarships. Overseas students intending to apply should refer to the "Scholarship Guidance Note for Overseas Students" which is available at your faculty's overseas students office.
(4)Japanese Government Scholarship Students
A.Grant
In order to receive their monthly allowance,overseas students must go to the overseas students office of the faculty concerned at the beginning of each month.Should they be unable to do so,they should make prior arrangements with the overseas students office of the faculty concerned.
B.Extension of Scholarship Tenure
Japanese Government scholarship students may apply for an extension of scholarship tenure.Approval of extension of tenure of scholarship is determined by the Ministry of Education. All applications may not be approved,so applicants should be prepared in case they are rejected. When an extension is granted on condition of entering graduate school,applicants are required to submit their entrance examination results to the overseas students office of the faculty concerned as soon as possible.
