The 12th International ESD Forum was held on December 5-6, 2024.

This forum was initiated by the Faculty of Education at Shizuoka University, together with partner universities, and has been held annually as one of the consortium projects since 2021 when Shizuoka University and five universities from Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia founded the JPTI6 Sustainable Development Consortium (JPTI6 SDC).
At the same time as the Consortium was launched, the Sustainability Center of the Design for Future Society and the Organization for International Collaboration have served as the contact point for JPTI6 SDC.

This year's forum, the 12th, was held under the theme “Building Resilient Communities through Education for Sustainable Development: Advancing the SDGs for a Better and Sustainable Planet” with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and Indonesia University of Education (UPI) as the organizing institutions.
On December 5, a field visit to Yogyakarta, Indonesia was held, and on December 6, the forum was held in a hybrid format with an online format on the campus of Gadjah Mada University.
That was the first time in a while after the Covid-19 that a face-to-face forum was held, and Shizuoka University participated both onsite and online.

The opening ceremony featured opening remarks from the rectors of UGM and UPI, followed by the greetings from the presidents/rectors of the member universities, then, was delivered a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. M. Baiquni of UGM, entitled “UGM Action for Community Resilience through Collaborative Learning: Strengthening Local Solutions for Sustainable Development”.

In the four parallel sessions, presentations were made by each university, and the followings were made by Shizuoka University. The moderators of four sessions presented the summary reports for each session.

The forum ended on a high note with an exchange of views on exchanges utilizing the consortium.
