Comment from President of Shizuoka University

News

A student of our university was arrested on suspicion of injury for two people with sulfuric acid at Shirokane Takanawa Subway Station in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
It is regrettable that a student of university, which is an educational institution, was arrested, and we take this fact very seriously.

We sincerely apologize to the victims, their families, and everyone involved, and pray that the victims will recover as soon as possible.
We also deeply apologize for causing concern and anxiety to many people in society in this incident.

Currently, police investigations are underway, and our University will cooperate fully and will take strict measures against the students based on the facts that will become clear in the future.
